TITLE I - DISLOCATED WORKERS


Workers who have been terminated, received notice of termination, or laid off from employment maybe eligible for the Title I Dislocated Worker program. Within the past few years 3.3 million workers have been laid off every year from employment throughout the nation. Many people seek services from Federal, State, and Local career services during the time of unemployment. The Dislocated Worker program is funded through the Department of Labor (DOL) Workforce Investment Act (WIA) through the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) to assist unemployed individuals in the Northern Virginia area.

Eligibility Requirements
1. Terminated, laid off or received a notice of termination or lay-off from employer
2. Eligible for Unemployment Insurance and unlikely to return to previous occupation; OR
3. Workers Adjustment Retraining Notification (WARN)
4. Resident of Alexandria

Please bring the following documents to JobLink

1. Valid Photo Identification
2. Employment Termination Letter
3. Unemployment Insurance Monetary Determination
4. Selective Service Registration OR DD214 (males only)
5. Citizenship or Right to Work documents (birth certificate or passport)
6. Social Security Card
